Doing Enough

I thought I’d kick this off because, well… it was my idea.

Maybe because I felt like I had something to say.

Or maybe because there’s someone out there — even just one person — who might need to hear it.

Training isn’t all Instagram, selfies, WODs, PBs and tight T-shirts. It’s far more important than that. And if we’re honest, it’s also bloody hard.

Most of us have jobs. Families. Responsibilities. People who depend on us.

Finding 30 minutes to move can feel impossible — never mind an hour-long HYROX session or a full yoga class.

So credit to everyone who turns up consistently.

But even more credit to those who try, fall off, come back, fall off again… and still keep showing up.

Because that’s the real work.

It’s easy to quit.

It’s easy to justify not going.

Life gives you plenty of reasons.

I juggle a lot myself. I can't even train at Unit One — it’s genuinely impossible for me most days. But I’m lucky enough to have access elsewhere, and I make sure I use it.

Sometimes it’s a 30-minute stretch.

Sometimes it’s lifting.

Sometimes it’s just walking on a treadmill.

None of it is glamorous. All of it matters.

I do it because it keeps me level.

Because it helps my head as much as my body.

Because consistency, even when it’s messy, beats perfection every time.

So if you feel like you’re not doing enough — you probably are.

And if you’re struggling to be consistent, you’re not failing. You’re human.

Keep turning up.

Keep trying.

Keep starting again.

Because doing something is always better than doing nothing.

And when the balance finally clicks — it will — you’ll be glad you kept going.

That’s all this is. Just a place to share that.

Welcome to 'Between Us' - The Unit One blog :)
